Will UGA go after other Tucker seniors?

UGA’s new defensive coordinator, Jeremy Pruitt, stopped by Tucker High School on Thursday to check out a longtime commitment to the Bulldogs, linebacker Detric Dukes.

Pruitt also asked about two other talented Tucker seniors who are not committed to colleges – safety Kirk Tucker (who de-committed from Stanford on Wednesday) and cornerback Dominick Sanders (who has an official visit to UCF this weekend). Sanders is the younger brother of Chris Sanders, the former UGA player.

“They might look at (Tucker and Sanders), I don’t know.” Tucker coach Bryan Lamar said. “They were coming by to check on Detric after all the coaching changes, to be honest with you. Yes, they are still evaluating those others guys, but they didn’t schedule anything.”

How are things between UGA and Dukes? “Georgia loves him,” Lamar said. “Detric is fine. He’s solid with Georgia. He loves Georgia, and he’s excited about the coaching changes. They’ve got to get a position coach in there but you won’t find too many guys that don’t like Pruitt. He’s a pretty good guy.”

One other Tucker item of interest: UGA’s Pruitt didn’t really inquire about Elisha Shaw, who was once ranked among the nation’s top prospects at defensive tackle before missing his senior season with a neck injury. Shaw hasn’t been medically cleared yet to return to football.

A few months ago, Shaw had UGA, Alabama and Ole Miss as his leaders. Now it appears that Alabama may be Shaw’s best option, if he decides to resume football.

Shaw told the AJC that he has one official visit – to Alabama on Jan. 24, and his coach verified the recruiting trip.

“The thing with Bama, we’re just waiting to see how Alabama will take care of him,” Lamar said. “He still has an offer there if he wants to go there. He still has some other schools in the mix, too.

What about UGA for Shaw? “The coaches came here today, and we didn’t talk too much about Elisha,” Lamar said. “They wanted to get an eye on Detric and some other guys.”

Tucker has at least three juniors that will be heavily-recruited by UGA, including cornerback Duke Shelly.

Sanders and Tucker meet a need so should go for them.  May help with the guys for next year.  Situation with Shaw makes it seem like he will not be able to play again.  He hasn't been cleared all year but I haven't heard what exactly is the issue with his neck.  It may be best for him to move past football.

Pruitt should swing by Stephenson HS too.  Rivers kid at DE is a beast.  One of Tucker's LB's just transferred there too.  They have a 10th grader at CB that's already being heavily recruited.  Lock down Dekalb and Gwinnett County and keep these boys home.

UGA will be smart to offer bother Tucker and Sanders. They are outstanding Prospects. Shelly which is a 2015 prospect is a star as well.

So Rev. Richt has essentially pulled the offer of a scholarship to this young man because he is injured while Saban intends to honor his offer.  Where is the outrage?  Funny how this information is buried at the bottom of the article.  If the roles were reversed the head line would read... SABAN PULLS OFFER TO INJURED PLAYER.

The best that Bama will do for an injured player is a greyshirt and an offer to start in Jan., but if they get off to a hot start with this year's Jr.Recruits, Bama might recruit "over him" and will stop calling and won't take him in Jan.

Since CMR has extra schollies and DLs are always in great demand CMR should offer him and bring him in this summer, he waited 3 years on Kolton Houston, so he should be able to invest 2 years in a DL that was once elite and might get back to his old form, it worked for J.Jones.

Since UGA has safeties that cannot stop smoking weed they might want to look at the Safety that couldn't get admitted to Stanford, if he was looking to go to Stanford, then he is probably more disciplined than some other recent UGA recruits.

Good Luck young men. Maybe UGa has some space and you will get to stay close to home.

@Blackoutanyone Can you read? Did Shaw ever commit to UGA? Did Richt pull his offer after Shaw committed? Has he committed to Bama? NO on all accounts

Slydwag... What I read was this young man was offered by both schools before his injury.  Saban has maintained his offer despite the injury while rev. Richt has apparently pulled his offer.
