What are UGA’s chances with state’s No. 1 RB?

Even though Georgia’s No. 1 prospect at running back for 2105 hadn’t eliminated the Bulldogs from contention, it sure sounded like it in an interview last month.

McEachern High School’s Taj Griffin had expressed some concerns about early playing time because UGA appears to be stacked at running back after signing 5-stars Nick Chubb and Sony Michel last month.

However, Griffin sang a different tune about UGA after the Atlanta Nike camp. It was particularly interesting with how Griffin said the Bulldogs plan to use him.

Check out Griffin’s comments in the above video.

I could see Marshall coming back to become the #1 guy at RB for Georgia and go higher in the draft as a result....which would equate to a heck of lot more guaranteed money to go back to college and get a degree with some day.

The year 2105 is so far away.  At this point I'm not sure I'll care about who signs with GA at that time.  Pretty sure I'll be dead!

Maybe Boo BOO will have this guy play TE.

This guys Brother is a redshirt freshman at Tech and Carvell didn't ask him one question about GT. The allegiance is so obvious.

Taj has already stated in an interview with 247 that he was "very aware of the depth at tailback at UGA" and that it would be a factor in his decision. UGA was his early leader last year before Chubb and Michel were signed. No way that Taj comes to  UGA now....he'd be #5 on the depth chart or possibly #6 if Gurley comes back for another season.

We have plenty of qb's, rb's wr's and lb's. We need some stud linemen.

@Bubbatavious  noticed you had no reply when I nailed you on the other blog about Cam Newton.  I think recognizing physical talent and at least offering him beats not offering him at all... as Bama did.  So why no reply?  I'll tell you why.  It's because you are a troll that just has a Word document with a bunch of cliche jabs at the University of Georgia Bulldogs and you merely cut and paste.  You can't think your way out of a paper bag and sure can't refute airtight logic.

Go back to the Clempsun blogs troll.

@ConfederateFlagBurner This guy's uncle's friend is an employee at Frito-Lay and Carvell didn't ask him one question about the new spicy Cheetos. His allegiance to Pringles is so obvious.

@ConfederateFlagBurner  Sorry about that. I've interviewed this kid 4 or 5 times, and he's never mentioned Georgia Tech out of his long list of schools. I always forget that his brother plays for Georgia Tech. I do need to find out what the deal is.

@ConfederateFlagBurner would you like some cheese with that whine?  We need an industrial strength can of Raid flying insect killer for these blogs.

@ConfederateFlagBurner  He gave the kid an open-ended opportunity to list the schools he liked.  He brought up UGA, not the interviewer.  Some people just really like hearing kids publicly deny any real interest in Tech I guess.

I'm sorry, he didn't ask one question about who?

@michaeltheamerican - did you read the article?  Mr Carvell mentioned the early assessment and specifically stated that the attitude changed after the Nike camp.  Read and then respond.  It isn't that hard.

@tomkat1111 we do?  Did you see what happened last year?  Yes we need linemen but you don't take a pass on the #1 RB in the state because of that.

@MichaelCarvell Marshall should return and get his degree. The career length of a RB in the NFL is so short these days. The NFL is not really a RB league as it once was.

@NCDawg @tomkat1111I agree. You really can't have too many skill players for sure. We look to have a shot at having a pretty decent OL this year, and 2015 is another good year for OL as recruits it would appear. We just need to get to the point where we can allow these young OL's, time to mature, and be physically ready to play in college. It is a little easier for a RB to be prepared.

@mrcvsj @MichaelCarvellI don't think Kamara will sign with UGA, and I am not too sure UGA wants him anyway. After a year of JC, he has I think two years and he would have to try and fit in between Michael and Chubb. He isn't cut from the same material as those two are.

@MichaelCarvell @POAD2013That makes more sense to do it that way, provided he goes high enough after his Junior year, to not play another year in college. If he were drafted high enough, it's not like he would need his degree to play there. I hope he stays healthy this year along with Gurley, because we have yet to see what they can do together much, when both are healthy and in the game rotating with each other.

@POAD2013 So what's your point? Give up a year in the NFL to finish your degree at UGA? Why not play in the NFL and then come back to school?
