Georgia Tech closed the deal on commit No. 4 in a hurry.
Omarhi Jarrett, a 3-star running back from Manchester High School, committed to Georgia Tech less than 24 hours after getting an offer from the Yellow Jackets.
“We had visited Georgia Tech yesterday, and it was just different than the other schools,” Jarrett told the AJC. “It was nice, and my parents liked it. Not only that, it’s located near the house. Everything just clicked, and I was ready to commit.
The 5-foot-9, 174-pounder said he picked Georgia Tech over offers from Northern Illinois, Middle Tennessee State and Southern Miss. He also had interest from Syracuse and N.C. State.
“Yes sir, I called Coach (Paul) Johnson yesterday with my parents,” Jarrett said. “We told him that we liked the staff and how he presented the college. I just Coach Johnson that ‘I’m all in.’ It went from there.
“He was excited. He said he was waiting on my call, and that it made his day. He can’t wait to coach me.”
Jarrett, who projects to play A-Back at Georgia Tech, has a 3.1 GPA and will major in computer science or engineering.
