Freshman phenom talks about UGA and Georgia Tech

By Michael Carvell

We really don’t cover a lot of football prospects that are underclassmen in the state of Georgia. We can barely keep up with the current class of seniors because there are so many.

You have to be really special.

James Walker, who just finished his freshman year at Jonesboro High School, is special.

He’s 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds, and led Jonesboro to a state championship in basketball this past year as a freshman. He was the team’s top scorer. You can read more about him HERE

This spring, Walker went out for football for the first time since middle school and earned football scholarship offers from Miami and Clemson.

There’s more coming. A lot more.

And as strange as that sounds, it’s easy to understand once you see Walker: He big, strong, athletic and agile. He passes all the eyeball tests.

The freshman phenom (now a sophomore) talked about his football recruiting, and how he feels about UGA and Georgia Tech in the below video:

He got 2 offers just from spring practice, not knowing what he can do in game like situations, that's just getting ridiculas.

Carvell did you reach for this story? I mean these kids in this generation are different and we expecting three years worth of Loyal would never be good.

That's nutty to give offers to middle schoolers. Pop Warner leagues are next.
