Alabama and UGA still flirting with Auburn recruit

By Michael Carvell

Elijah Sullivan was one of the state’s first 2015 prospects off the board, with the Tucker High School linebacker committing to Auburn last February.

Sullivan said he’s still hearing from UGA and Alabama in the below video:

Georgia kind of sniffed a national championship against Alabama, but Richt blew it with that stupid pass that the Georgia player should have batted down. And Nicky Satan blew it the next year with the 1 second field goal attempt. Like Bear Bryant used to say, "bad coaching."

Since when has a verbal commitment ever stopped any school from contacting a player until he signs?

Very funny reading the "lectures" from Auburn fans here. 1st you brag about an undefeated season (in which you were on NCAA probation), then you claimed a NC (that you lost last year), and finally you get around to criticizing Mark Richt (who has a 9-5 record against Auburn).  Keep the laughs coming barners....

One of these days, Auburn fans will realize a long standing truth about southeastern recruiting. Auburn gets three kinds of athletes 1) Kids from Georgia that UGA doesn't want  2) Kids from Alabama that Alabama doesn't want and 3) Kids who have already played at UGA or Alabama but have been kicked off the team for committing crimes.

From the video it sounds like Bama and UGa are still just looking at his footwork and evaluating his skills. Has he received firm offers from Bama and/or UGa?

@michaeltheamerican They seem to be doing ok with those terrible recruits. Auburn has played two national title games in the last 4 years and UGA hasn't even sniffed a National Title game in 30+ years. I guess they are coaching them up.

@michaeltheamerican Really....you must be 9 or 10 years old!!!!! If that is true I guess you guys need better coaching!!!!!! 2 NC in four years with second hand players. Damn we are just good!!!!

@michaeltheamerican  They have more SEC titles in the past decade then any other team. Since 1980 they have more SEC titles then any team not named Florida as well. They also have more undefeated seasons then any team not named Miami. They must be doing something right.

@Buzz-Off  How is it that Auburn who is not exactly begging kids to come there can evaluate and offer 4 months ago and we are just getting around to it?

His teammate is bama commit but many expect him to flip to Auburn or UGA.

@bigmacondawg Sure... We will see. Personally I think you put an awful lot of confidence in a guy with one year of DC experience.

Good lord, get over the five yards BS. Your team had sixty minutes to win the game, Milliner caught that ball in the air on the last drive, and it took a miraculous last minute drive to even get into position to win. Let's not even mention it took a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown , a fake punt, a botched pass interference call. I can go on all day about the bounces that went your way and your boys still couldn't win the game, so you were a lot longer than five yArds away.

@TheAuditor Nope. Sorry, you aren't getting any points for Alabama playing a terrible game and still winning.

@TravisBickle5150 @GetontheGusBus  National titles are a too subjective so just focus on the undefeated seasons and SECCs. Ask yourself if MAYBE Richt ought to study what they are doing in terms of talent evaluation.

They seem to be getting scholarships to guys we are a day late on. Look at Ronnie Brown, Carl Lawson, carlos rogers, Marcus McNeil.

They thrive because they have to evaluate. They don't have the luzury of having sidewalk alum pafrents.

@GTBob @TheAuditor This might be the most ridiculous comment you have made so far. Alabama did not play their best game, but it was by no means a terrible game by Alabama. You don't rush for that many yards and have it considered to be a "terrible" performance.

However, I do agree with Contractor's statement below that UGA had many bounces go it's way. However, I would attribute that to decent defensive plays (but a "terrible" defense performance by UGA is not a stretch).

You are right on the money with "you're not getting any points" because UGA didn't win.

@GTBob @TheAuditor how does alabama playing as you say, "terrible" in the '12 SEC Championship Game have any bearing in whether UGA "sniffed" a national title game?

are you arguing that UGA wouldn't have played in the BCS Champiionship Game had they won?

@GTBob @TheAuditor The winner of the  Georgia -Bama  game in 2012  was playing going to play ND for the  National title . Bama  playing  terrible(LOL)  has  no bearing on the fact  Georgia  was playing  for  a spot in the  National title game.

@TravisBickle5150 @AlternativeDawg  If Auburn wants to sell themselves out for guys like Cam Newton that's up to them. As far as last year it was absolute blind luck for Auburn. They should have been 5-3. Florida has NEVER been undefeated and before 1980 they were Vandy.
