RB Mikell Lands-Davis nearing decision (UPDATED)

By Michael Carvell

Georgia Tech is one of the finalists for Mikell Lands-Davis, the 3-star running back who will commit around 4 p.m. Friday.

The Alexander High School product will announce his college decision via Twitter. His four finalists are UNC, Georgia Tech, Clemson and N.C. State.

“I committing now because I feel like I know the place for me,” Lands-Davis told the AJC. “The school I’m going commit to, I just know it’s the right place. Every school I’ve visited so far, the ones I have offers from, they are all pretty nice. It’s hard to find anything wrong with any of them.

“It’s just the school I’m going to commit to, I can’t get the feeling away of wanting to go there. I just feel like it’s the right choice for me.”

The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder visited Georgia Tech last week, and has also made recruiting trips to UNC, N.C. State and Wake Forest.

Lands-Davis is ranked as the No. 55 overall prospect out of Georgia this year.

I think he will be picking Tech tonight.  If not us, then Clemson.  He would make an excellent B-back for us.

Looking forward to seeing him on the Flats.

@andrech3 If you followed or paid any attention to Ga. Tech Football at all you would know stars such as 2 star or 3 star or 4 star athletes doesn't mean anything. Some of Tech's Really Good Players have been walk on's and that would carry a 0 star..... More important than the star is if this player is a hard worker on and off the field and if his personality fit's are coaches coaching style. That is worth much more than if he was a 3 star or a 5 star........ Some of the comments on here have to be UGA fans pretending to be Tech Fans cause I know our Fans are smarter than so many of the comments I have been reading and all the whining that has been going on about CPJ! Coach Johnson wishing you and the team nothing but the best this year and all the years to come. Looking Forward to seeing you play Lands-Davis! Go Jackets!

If I were a betting man, I'd look at 1 out of two if I were you, and MLD is the guy PJ REALLY wants. :)
