Tucker DB to get evaluated at Dawg Night

By Michael Carvell

New UGA defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt will get to evaluate cornerback Duke Shelley for the first time in person at Dawg Night.

Shelley is a 3-star cornerback from Tucker High School with around 15 offers, including Clemson, Wisconsin, Mississippi State and Kansas State.

The 5-foot-8, 165-pound Shelley tried to commit to Tennessee last spring, but the Volunteers wanted more time to evaluate him.

UGA will get the chance on Friday.

Duke talks about his recruiting in the below video:

Brent Grimes is one in a 1,000 that make it at his size.  Not something you want to hang your hat on with a full scholarship.  Yes he competes but so do the 6'1" and 6'2" guys.

Pruitt being nice. I know a H S Coach who was at the coaching clinic this summer in Athens. Pruitt told the coach's there he is looking for 6'0" to 6'3" DB's in the 180 to 200 range

Not tall enough, sorry. A good 6' 5" Receiver would eat this guy alive.
