Alabama legacy transfers to North Cobb High School

By Michael Carvell

A top sleeper prospect for 2015 to watch this season is Jordan McCray.

He’s a 6-foot-5, 170-pound wide receiver who recently transferred from Walton High School to North Cobb for his senior season. McCray missed almost all of his junior year with a torn ACL.

McCray hails from a famous football family: His father, Curtis Brown, was a top wide receiver on Alabama’s 1992 national championship team. His uncle is former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Charlie Brown.

McCray doesn’t have any early offers because most scouts are waiting until they can evaluate his recovery from the knee injury. He’d like to get looks from Auburn, Alabama, UGA and Georgia Tech, among others.

McCray will get the chance to put up Nintendo-like numbers this year at North Cobb because his QB is Auburn commit Tyler Queen.

McCray talks about his recruiting in the below video:

My question is why did you leave my Alma mater, Walton?  If to be with Tyler Queen then I get it, otherwise why choose a vastly inferior academic high school over Walton, the best in the state?

Curtis was a good football player for Coach Stallings and Bama. Good luck to him.
