Florida Gators’ recruit tweets out proof that he had UGA offer

Adonis Thomas committed to Florida over Alabama last Friday.

But the 4-star linebacker from Central Gwinnett High School was catching flack from some UGA fans on Twitter who claimed he didn’t really have an offer from the home-state Bulldogs.

This kind of bothered Thomas, so he tweeted out a copy of the UGA scholarship letter he had recently gotten in the mail from Mark Richt on Monday.

“I did it because there was fans saying I didn’t have a real UGA offer, and they were saying they never recruited me,” Thomas told the AJC.

Did it work? Did tweeting out a copy of his UGA offer clear things up with those fans? “I don’t know, maybe,” Thomas said with a laugh. “You know you always have bad feedback (from fans of other schools) in recruiting, regardless.”

The 6-foot-3, 235-pounder is rated as a 4-star and the No. 18 overall prospect out of the state of Georgia for 2015.
