‘Big Gus’ talks about his leaders

By Michael Carvell

One of the state’s top sleeper prospects is Gus Cumberlander, a 6-foot-6 senior defensive end from Cedar Grove High School.

Cumberlander is raw and undeveloped but has a high ceiling of potential. He also has an older brother, Gerald Rivers, who plays defensive end for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.

“Big Gus” has around 17-18 scholarship offers, including Georgia Tech. He lists Oregon, Mississippi State, Wisconsin and Virginia among his leaders.

Gus talks about his recruiting in the below video:

Only come to Tech if you are willing to be successful in life...in and out of football.  We study hard, play hard, and go hard at life...doing it the right way.  I hope you chose GT and be part of one of the most historic and successful NCAA programs.  We need some good D-Lineman...more importantly, continue to sign good people!

@gtcaryd Clearly if he wants to play for a loser he should sign up for the GnaTs...that Roof, he is a GREAT DC.  One of the only DCs anyone can remember that got fired a few days after his team won the National Championship IN SPITE OF the worst defense in the SEC.  Oh, but then Roof has also proven he is a great DC and HC before being fired or run off from Duke, Minnesota, Penn State, etc etc etc.  Hopefully this young man chooses a program and fan base worthy of his talents....not some delusional bunch of insects obsessed with the far superior program that has stomped them almost every year in the past 20.

Who's obsessed, troll?

Ted Roof didn't get run off by Penn State; he coordinated an excellent defense in his lone season and then came home.

Riiiight....since every successful coach bolts a program like Penn State to join the GnaTs of the lowly ACC

He's not "every successful coach..." He was a star linebacker at Tech in the 80's. Did you look at how his defense did at Penn State? What cause would Bill O'Brien have had for "running him off?"

For someone who is so secure about his teams record, you sure are spouting a lot of vitriol. I bet you're in middle school, which puts you on par with the average dwag fan educationally.

@just sayin' Well maybe middle school is a stretch...  These UGA fans are very challenged.
