Josh Sweat, who is rated as the nation’s No. 1 overall college football prospect and is scheduled to take an official visit to UGA on Oct. 4, suffered a serious knee injury on Friday.
The 5-star defensive end from Chesapeake, Va., was diagnosed with a dislocated knee cap and will be sidelined indefinitely, ESPN reported through unnamed sources.
This past summer, Sweat surpassed Albany’s Trent Thompson (committed to UGA) as the nation’s No. 1 prospect, mainly because Thompson didn’t do the camp circuit.
The 6-foot-5, 240-pound Sweat has scheduled official visits to Ohio State, Virginia Tech, UGA (Oct. 4), FSU (Oct. 18) and Oregon (Oct. 31).
