Top Alabama recruit visits UGA: ‘I could see myself playing there’

Remember how three of UGA’s top recruits, including 5-stars Terry Godwin and Trent Thompson, made unofficial visits to Alabama last week?

Well, the Bulldogs got a little payback when one of Alabama’s top recruits attended UGA’s win over Tennessee on Saturday.

The recruit is Ronnie Harrison, a 4-star safety from Tallahassee, Fla. And he projects to have a whirlwind finish to his recruiting process in January and February.

Harrison initially committed to North Carolina in July 2013, and then he flipped to Alabama a couple of months ago. Over the last two weeks, Harrison has taken unofficial visits to Florida State and UGA.

What did Harrison think of UGA? “I think Coach Richt is a great head coach,” Harrison told’s Dan McDonald. “He knows what he wants to do with his program and they are building it up. Coach Pruitt is a great coach and the defense he runs is a great defense. I could see myself playing there. He’s talked to me about how I could play early if I go there.”

Harrison also told Rivals that he is sticking with Alabama but that he has to “get the right feeling” to flip to another school.

The good news for Alabama is that Harrison signed financial-aid papers with the SEC school last week – which basically gives the Crimson Tide “unlimited contact” to recruit him until he signs his letter of intent.
