A longtime UGA recruit flipped to Texas on Wednesday.

Quincy Vasser is a 3-star defensive end from Navarro junior college out of Texas. He had been committed to UGA since last April.

The 6-foot-4, 260-pounder announced his change of plans via Twitter:

Vasser’s situation with UGA changed after he took an official visit to Texas this past weekend. At Texas, he will be joined by Tristan Nickelson, one of his teammates from Navarro.

Vasser also was distraught by UGA’s meltdown in the final minutes of a loss to Georgia Tech:

Even before the de-commitment, Vasser had an unusual recruiting courtship with UGA. He committed last April without ever visiting the state of Georgia, without ever talking (even on the phone) with Mark Richt, and without ever meeting face-to-face with any UGA assistants.

However, Vasser solidified his situation with UGA after taking an official visit with the Bulldogs for last July’s Dawg Night prospect camp.

UGA now has 24 commits for 2015, and it will likely sign between 29-31 in February.
