Jonathan Taylor, who was dismissed from UGA’s football team after being arrested on an aggravated assault/family violence charge last summer, will take an official visit to Alabama this weekend, according to al.com’s Drew Champlin.
The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Taylor enrolled at Mississippi’s Copiah-Lincoln junior college this season to play ball. The defensive lineman finished with 44 tackles, including 11 tackles for losses and 4.5 sacks.
Taylor is rated as the nation’s No. 7 junior college prospect by 247sports.
When Taylor was arrested at last summer in an alleged domestic dispute at McWhorter Hall, police said evidence and witness accounts indicated that Taylor “choked” and “struck with a closed first” a 5-foot-11, 170-pound female.
Taylor signed with UGA out of Jenkins County High School in 2012.
