The No. 1 receiver out of the state of Georgia has backed off his commitment to Alabama.
Demetris Robertson, who is rated as the state’s No. 4 overall prospect for 2016, announced his plans on Twitter on late Friday night.
“After careful consideration with my family, I’ve decided to officially re-open my recruitment,” Robertson said.
Could UGA land Robertson? The Bulldogs appear to have a good shot, as assistant Mike Ekeler traveled to Savannah Christian Prep earlier this week to observe Robertson on the first day of the NCAA’s spring evaluation period. Robertson also went to last summer’s Dawg Night prospect camp shortly after committing to Alabama.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Robertson had originally committed to Alabama last July.
He is rated as the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect at the “athlete” position but likely to play receiver in college.
