Julian Rochester, the state’s No. 2 overall college football prospect, committed to UGA on Thursday evening.
Both Rivals and Scout reported earlier on Thursday that the 5-star defensive tackle from McEachern High School had committed to UGA. But another recruiting website, 247sports.com, countered the reports — and quoted Rochester as saying “I have not committed yet.”
Nevertheless, by the end of the day, the confusion was settled when Rochester tweeted out his UGA commitment with a pair of photos with the Bulldog coaches:
The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Rochester is commit No. 13 for UGA in 2016. It’s shaping up to be a gigantic year for the Bulldogs with elite in-state talent. Four of the state’s top 10 prospects have committed to UGA: Rochester, OL EJ Price (No. 5), OL Ben Cleveland (No. 6), and DE Chauncey Manac (No. 10).
