One of Atlanta’s top wide receivers for 2017 suffered a gruesome-looking knee injury at UGA’s 7-on-7 camp on Thursday.
Jared Simpkins is a rising junior from Norcross High School who claims early offers from Louisville and Toledo.
In one of the final 7-on-7 games at UGA on Thursday, Simpkins made a clutch touchdown catch over a defender. However, he fell awkward as he touched the ground. Simpkins was helped up by teammates, but was clearly in agonizing pain.
He was escorted off UGA’s grounds in a cart for a medical evaluation. The seriousness of the injury is unknown.
