Chandler Tuitt, who postponed his college decision last month, has rescheduled his announcement for Friday.
The 4-star offensive guard from Sandy Creek High School will pick from his finalists of Ole Miss, Tennessee, UGA, South Carolina and Florida.
How much is UGA in contention? Tuitt has been tight-lipped throughout the whole recruiting process, but he tipped his hind a little bit when he was asked by the AJC if he planned to attend Saturday’s Dawg Night prospect camp.
“Naw,” he said. “It’s not the school I’m choosing.”
“I did want to go (to Dawg Night) but you know how that goes? The school I’m going to pick basically doesn’t want me to go. They prefer that I stay home.”
Ole Miss looks like the school to beat for the 6-foot-3, 295-pounder who is rated as the No. 31 overall prospect out of Georgia. Tuitt is projected to go to Ole Miss by 100-percent of the analysts on the 247sports’ Crystal Ball predictions.
“I knew for a while which school I was going to pick — I just didn’t want it to get out or tell people yet until I was really sure,” said Tuitt, without revealing his Friday selection.
“The most important things to me are how the school is, if they treat you like family or not, and the academics.”
Why did Tuitt pick Friday for his announcement? “It’s just a good day. Friday is a good day.”
Instead of having a press conference, Tuitt said he will simply reveal his college choice on social media.
“I’m just going to put it out on Twitter, and just keep it nice and simple,” Tuitt said. “I don’t like all that attention. I’m more of a guy who likes to keep things to himself.”
UGA has three commitments on the offensive line for 2016, and the Bulldogs are still in the running for EJ Price, the 4-star from Archer High School who backed off his pledge last month.
