Georgia Tech didn’t look far to pick up commit No. 7 for its 2016 recruiting class.
Jarett Cole, a 3-star defensive back from Norcross, pledged to Georgia Tech over Kansas State on Thursday. He met with Tech coach Paul Johnson and defensive coordinator Ted Roof earlier in the day.
“I just let them know that I wanted to be part of the Georgia Tech family,” Cole told the AJC.
Why Tech? “It’s great football, and the academics are outstanding,” Cole said. “It’s pretty close to home, and my family gets to see me play. And they play big-time football there.”
The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder is rated as the No. 68 overall prospect out of the state of Georgia.
