Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson meets with his team after the 2015 Spring Game at Bobby Dodd Stadium (AJC)

Its been a busy morning so far for recruiting. Alabama saw one of its prize cornerbacks for the Class of 2016 de-commit. Auburn is a finalist for a stout Georgia LB and also snatched a Stephenson safety away from South Carolina.

Georgia Tech has gotten the promise of an official visit from one of the nation’s top athletes and the No. 4 overall player in Georgia for 2016.

Today’s need-to-know stories

1. D-rob will make it to The Flats

Savannah’s Demetris Robertson told the AJC on Sunday that Georgia Tech will get one of his official visits. The nation’s No. 2 athlete and 4-star prospect is thinking academics with his college plan. That’s why Stanford leads and Georgia Tech and Notre Dame will also get official visits.

Robertson de-committed from Alabama earlier this summer and he still maintains that Alabama and UGA are his co-No. 2s. Lamar Owens is recruiting him for the Jackets and he has ties to the Savannah area.

He discussed what he’s thinking right now among all those schools on DawgNation.

2. Nation’s No. 5 CB backpedals from Alabama

Louisiana 4-star cornerback Shyheim Carter de-committed for Alabama with a message on his Twitter account on Monday morning. That’s a big deal considering he was the first commitment for the Class of 2016 for the Crimson Tide. UGA is definitely in the running for his signature this fall.

Carter will be an early enrollee so he won’t go all the way until February to make his decision.

3. Mbem-Bosse has Auburn in his final group

Cedar Grove linebacker Elysee Mbem-Bosse would make just about anybody’s All-Name team. He announced his Top 5 schools via his Twitter account on Sunday. Auburn was the only SEC school to make the cut.

4. Why Auburn bested South Carolina for Gonzalez

Auburn lost a recruiting battle earlier the summer for Grady’s Marlon Character, but evened up the score with the Gamecocks over the weekend. Stephenson 3-star safety Carlito Gonzalez said “War Eagle” with his pledge to play for Auburn.

What were his reasons? Why did the 2017 prospect commit? Check out this recap of his decision.

5. Did you see this sorority recruiting video?

Alabama knows recruiting. That’s clear. It also appears that former Hillgrove standout Kenyan Drake also knows a little something about recruiting.

That’s one conclusion to draw from his appearance in this Alabama sorority recruiting video. He runs a sprint with a co-ed and also take a snap and throws a pass inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Drake appears right around the 2:30 mark.
