Will Harper, the Syracuse University commit from Sandy Creek High school, chose the Orange because it’s where his best opportunity to see playing time early.
“They told me I had a good chance of playing early if I come in and work,” Harper told the AJCsaid. “That got my attention early.”
Harper fell in love with the school during his unofficial visit and said he felt like it was home. The Orange also told Harper that he wouldn’t have to change positions once he joined the team.
“First of all, I’m going to be playing the same position I played at Sandy Creek,” Harper stated.
Familiarity on the field may help ease the transition of playing 987 miles away from home.
Harper’s head coach, Chip Walker, couldn’t be happier for his senior three-year starter.
“He found where he wanted to go…I think he’ll go up there and be a really good player for them,” Walker said.
