Kiel Pollard, one of the state’s top remaining uncommitted prospects, could be arriving at a decision soon.
The 3-star receiver from Colquitt County High School told the AJC on Saturday that he’ll likely decide between Arkansas and UCF in the coming weeks.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound receiver, who’s already visited UCF, plans to take an official visit to Arkansas on Sept. 19, the same weekend the Razorbacks face Texas Tech. Only after his visit will he make a decision.
Pollard, who holds 15 offers, says the coaching staff at Arkansas envisions using him as a wildcat quarterback in short-yardage situations and as a receiver on all other downs.
“They’re on the rise,” Pollard said. “I talk to almost all of the coaches. They’re into me. They want to put me on the team.”
Though he hasn’t been in touch with many other programs, Pollard admits that he’s spoken with Auburn on occasion. He’s hoping to get an offer from the Tigers over the course of the next three games.
However, all indications point to Pollard making his decision by September. Could it come shortly after his visit?
“Maybe,” Pollard said.
When asked if the Razorbacks lead, he let out a big smile before answering.
“UCF and Arkansas, you know,” Pollard said.
