Today’s need-to-know stories

1. 4-star defensive tackle chooses Clemson over Georgia Tech, others

Nyles Pinckney, a 4-star defensive tackle from South Carolina, committed to the Tigers on Friday.

The 6-foot-3, 290-pound tackle chose Clemson over South Carolina, Georgia Tech and Georgia.

The decision was anything but surprising. Pinckney, who received an offer from Clemson back in 2013, was always considered a favorite to stay in-state.

2. Georgia safety is high on ACC program

Kendrec Grady, a 3-star safety from Norcross, told the AJC on Saturday that’s being recruited heavily by Syracuse, Iowa State and Louisville.

The Cardinals are particularly of interest for the 6-foot-2, 190-pound safety, who’s high on Louisville defensive coordinator Todd Grantham.

Check out where he plans to take his official visits this fall.

3. 4-star WR says Tennessee, others, recruiting him hardest

Marquez Callaway is one of the top uncommitted recruits in the state.

The 4-star receiver, who holds 16 offers, told the AJC on Sunday that as of late, Tennessee, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Notre Dame have been recruiting him the hardest.

However, Callaway says he doesn’t have any leaders at moment. He’ll likely announce his commitment at the end of the season. Stay tuned.
