Longtime Georgia Tech commit Chris Martin is as firm in his commitment as one can be.
On Friday, the 3-star defensive end was adamant about where his loyalty lies.
“I’m solid,” Martin told the AJC. “I love (defensive coordinator Ted Roof), (coach Paul Johnson).”
Martin, who committed to the Yellow Jackets back in May, says he hasn’t heard from many schools with the exception of Pittsburgh. He’s rated as the state’s No. 89 overall prospect for this year.
But the 6-foot-2, 260-pounder tells the AJC that he’s steadfast in his decision.
“Pittsburgh is recruiting me hard, but I don’t even talk to them because I’m a hard commit to Georgia Tech,” Martin said.
Martin says the Yellow Jackets will use him primarily as a 3-technique defensive tackle, and his focus is to add close to 15 pounds before arriving on campus.
He unofficially visited Georgia Tech Saturday for its game against Tulane. Martin has yet to schedule his official visits for the fall.
